Verification & Identity

Keeping our community safe from the start

Every member verifies their identity before joining - it's quick, private, and your documents are never stored on our servers. We utilise a "Ringfence and Destroy" protocol, meaning your information is checked and immediately discarded.

You can verify in whichever way suits you best:

OPTION A An automated Stripe Identity link - instant, secure, no data stored.
OPTION B A short live video call via 3CX. We only need to see your face, name, and date of birth. We actively encourage you to cover your address and ID number. No recordings are kept.
OPTION C Age estimation - available to those who appear to be 40 or older. A live Administrator will visually assess your age via a brief call on the platform. No ID is required. No recordings are kept.

Safe Communication & Minor Protection

Our filters work in the background so you don't have to worry

The Sanctuary utilises a Two-Way Communication Filter between Verified Users (adults) and Unverified Users (minors). This works in both directions - protecting minors from adult content, and protecting adults from receiving restricted content from minors.

For minor users, the filter blocks personal contact details, curse words, and keeps conversations safe. To support everyday conversation, up to two consecutive digits are permitted - enough for normal chat, not enough to share phone numbers or identifying information.

A note on message filtering: Automated safety filters scan direct messages to help prevent grooming and abuse. These filters act passively - blocking or flagging content automatically. Flagged messages may be reviewed by the Administrator as part of the moderation process. Moderation decisions are made by the Administrator or through the user reporting system. By using the platform, you acknowledge that this automated filtering and potential human review takes place.

Community Conduct

Treating each other with basic human decency

The Sanctuary is built around respect. Violence, abuse, harassment, and hate speech are not welcome here. Our systems flag hateful content for human review - we believe in considered responses rather than knee-jerk automated removal, but repeat or serious violations will result in action.

Content relating to self-harm or suicide is not permitted. Any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation is treated with the utmost seriousness - all instances are documented and reported directly to the authorities.

Adult Content: Sexual content and nudity are not permitted in public spaces or via text and image DMs. If you are 18 or older, adult interactions between consenting adults are permitted in Voice or Video Calls only. Our filters handle enforcement automatically.

Commercial Content: Smoking and vaping brands may not advertise or promote their products on The Sanctuary.

Account Integrity & Security

Keeping things honest and secure

Please don't use The Sanctuary to manipulate, spam, or deceive others. Creating multiple accounts to evade a suspension won't work - each new attempt will simply result in the same outcome.

Parody accounts are welcome, provided you verify your age for that separate account.

Manual Security - for your protection: Password resets and verification links are personally reviewed and sent by the Administrator. Please allow up to 24 hours. This human-in-the-loop approach keeps automated attack vectors out of the picture.
